Franc's Story

Franc is from Hazel Park, Michigan. He is single. His schools include St. Mary's High School. He later attended Thunderbird School of Global Management. One of Franc's favorite quotes is:"WHEN THE WAY YOU LOOK AT THINGS CHANGE, THE THINGS THAT YOU LOOK AT CHANGE.". More about Franc:"GROWING, ENJOYING LIFE AND THE MOST FUN PERSON I KNOW. I am a serious, deep thinker. Always looking for answers to the impossible questions but I make sure that Laughter, fun, puns, and stupid play on words are part of my daily life. I have many friends with extremely diverse lives, interests and life styles. Acceptance and interest is what I give and what I want from you. "Who ever you are" is just perfect. If you don't know who you are, don't ask me. I won't change because you ask and if you demand my change---I'm out of here.". I joined the Navy in 1960, almost a full year after High School Graduation. Life up to that point in time was very difficult because I couldn't read very well and had a low self image of myself. While I was in the Navy I followed the advice of others and volunteered for every school the Navy had to offer. While in the Naval Dental Prostedicts Technician School (San Diego, Calif.) one of my instructor approached me and asked what College I was going to attend after the Navy. I replied 'Do you really believe I'm college material?" And they said to me=="Look around you. There are 85 people in this class and your my top Student. That was a game changer for me. At my duty station at Bethesda Naval Hospital just outside Washington, D.C. I attended night school classes at George Washington University==passed but at the lower end of my class. ==I STILL DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO READ. Upon mustering out of the Navy, I immediately returned to San Diego and enrolled at San Diego City College (a two year junior college) where my first re...Expand for more
ading course took place. I learned how to read and graduated in two and 1/2 years with an AA degree. Enrolled at San Diego State University and obtained a BS in Business Management. Worked as and Insurance salesman for Metropolitan Life. Just hated that job. Moved to Phoenix, Az. and attended Thunderbird Graduate School of International Business. Received a MA and MS degree in 18 months. Graduated in a business depression and could find a job like 75% of my classmates.....So I packed up my Family and for the next 2 years we travel the western US and CANADA putting up concession booths at fairs and exposition. Now people--that was real fun. My wife and two children still talk about the adventures we had. When we were at the Western Canada Expo in Edmonton, Alberta sun flares caused a night time show that was unbelievable--the north lights were so strong and so south we laid on our backs and looked straight up at colors of green to orange so bright that you could read a newspaper.(1971) We settle down in Oregon. Eventually, I ended up in Long Beach, California and lived one half city block from the ocean. The best summer my young teen age girls ever had. I was single at the time, living on the beach with hot and cold running women. At the end of summer my girls return to their mother and the world found out about AIDES. It was like someone turned out the light--- everyone became afraid for their lives. We had no idea of what it was but people were dying. I got a job as a shoe salesman selling work boots in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and Utah. I had to move to Colorado and as my daughters graduated high school, they moved to Denver where I lived for over 25 years. Both Beth and Anne married and started their own families. I'm now the Grandfather of 4. 2 of each kind and all beautiful people. MORE EDITING LATER.
